High School Student Internship

About Our Interns
Developing young leaders through the arts is an important part of Houston Cecilia Chamber Choir's educational mission. Through our Student Internship Program, we provide high school students with opportunities to refine their musical skills, gain ensemble experience, and grow within a collaborative and artistically rigorous environment.
Student interns are recommended by their high school choir directors and are invited to participate alongside experienced musicians in rehearsals, performances, and community outreach initiatives. Through these experiences, interns gain valuable insight into teamwork, leadership, personal responsibility, and the discipline required to prepare for rehearsals and performances. They develop organizational skills, time management, and a commitment to excellence while contributing to a shared artistic goal.
While some interns may pursue future studies in music, others will follow different academic and professional paths. The habits of preparation, collaboration, and self-discipline cultivated through ensemble participation provide a strong foundation for success in any field.
Houston Cecilia is proud to support the educational development of young people while fostering a lifelong appreciation for the arts, community engagement, and the transformative power of choral music.
